As a former employee of Award and after reading a couple of reviews that accuse the company of overpriced outsourcing I decided that I should write a review to refute those claims. I was employed at Award from 2005-2007. During that time I saw very little outsourcing, Award specialized in sandblasted and directory signage. At that time all sand blastng, vinyl graphics, digital printing, most directory signage, and channel letters were made on site. The only thing that was ever outsourced was neon and molded sign faces (electrical cabinets were made on site with UL certification as were channel letters). Occasionally some directory signage that required special ADA certification was outsourced. Most sign companies in middle TN outsource their neon to about a half dozen different suppliers in the area. At the time I was employed at Award the company was making a deliberate effort to break from using neon in channel letters to using LED lighting which is more economical, energy efficient, and environmentally friendly. The staff was always seeking to do its best, you don't stay in business as long as Award has if you fail to deliver quality and professionalism.
