Feedback:
We flew from Zagreb Croatia to Manchester UK with a 5 hour layover at Barcelona. We had been looking forward to spending time there, it is a very nice airport. BUT...we were stuck in what can only be called a glass cage. Our transfer landed us in Terminal 1, upstairs - and while we had a lovely view of the restaurants and shops on the main floor, the open air area with coffee and fresh air...we were unable to visit any of it. Instead we were stuck for 5 long hours with a pokey duty free, a crammed with people kiosk selling very little, a couple of restaurants (one of which was a worldwide burger chain). No information or reason why we were unable to visit the lower level that we could see every time we looked up. The shops, restaurants, and airport lost a considerable amount of money as we had planned on spending our leftover cash there and planning a future trip to Barcelona. A glass cage. Really left a sour taste in our mouths about Barcelona.
