We where only there for a few hrs to book a tour to danum valley, because there was no room available, but the way they helped us out was amazing, and the coffee was great

He wants to operate an environmentally friendly form of tourism. With his incredibly professional team (a big thank you goes to Dr.Teo) you also get a lot of background knowledge about the country with its rainforests, the palm oil plantations, the animals and of course the population. The experience of this nature remains unforgettable for us (especially when we saw our first orangutan), also our two boys (10 and 13) are still deeply impressed by the junglewalks, the animals and the boat trip with the locals to the mangroves and The Nipah forests around. The time in Lahad Datu, in Simon and Itisha's Guest House, where in our opinion there is the best food in the world (and you are always pampered with peculiarities - here a big thank you to Itisha and her great team) and the excursions / In retrospect, expeditions to both Bukit Piton and Sungai Kapur were unanimously referred to as the "best time" on Borneo. You have given us a very special time on Borneo, which will always be remembered for us and our children!(Original)Auf der Suche nach einem individuellen Reiseveranstalter mit viel Knowhow über das Land Borneo bin ich im Internet auf die Seite von bikeandtours gestoßen. <br/>Ich muss im Nachhinein sagen, das war ein absoluter Glücksgriff. <br/>Die Kommunikation mit dem Kopf des Reiseveranstalters, Simon Werren, einem Schweizer, der mit seiner Familie direkt vor Ort in Borneo lebt, gestaltete sich von Anfang an, als sehr easy. Die Rückantworten waren sehr schnell, er ging direkt auf unsere Fragen ein, und ermöglichte uns eine unvergessliche individuelle maßgeschneiderte Reise, auch abseits der sonst üblichen Touren bzw Pakete, die man sonst im Internet findet. So hatten wir das große Glück bzw. die Möglichkeit Land und Leute abseits des Touristenstroms kennenzulernen. Das war aber noch nicht alles. Man merkte, dem Veranstalter geht es um weit mehr. Ihm geht es darum eine umweltfreundliche Form des Tourismus zu betreiben. Mit seinem unglaublich professionellen Team (ein großer Dank hier geht an Dr.Teo) erhält man zudem vor Ort viel Hintergrundwissen über das Land mit seinen Regenwäldern, den Palmölplantagen, den Tieren und natürlich auch über die Bevölkerung. Das Erleben dieser Natur bleibt für uns unvergesslich (v.a. als wir unseren ersten Orang-Utan erblickten), auch unsere beiden Jungs (10 und 13) sind immer noch tief beeindruckt von den Junglewalks, den Tieren und der Bootsfahrt mit den Einheimischen um die Mangroven und .die Nipahwälder herum. Die Zeit in Lahad Datu, in Simon und Itishas Guest House, in dem es unserer Meinung nach das beste Essen der Welt gibt (und man immer wieder mit Besonderheiten verwöhnt wird- hier ein großes Danke an Itisha und ihrem tollen Team) und die Ausflüge/Expeditionen sowohl nach Bukit Piton, als auch nach Sungai Kapur bezeichneten wir im nachhinein übereinstimmend als die „beste Zeit“ auf Borneo. Natürlich waren Danum Valley und Kinabatangan (auch von Bikeandtours optimal und zuverlässig organisiert) in Sabah ebenso sehr beeindruckend, doch uns gefiel bei den anderen Touren der hautnahe Kontakt zur Bevölkerung und das Gefühl kein Tourist, sondern ein Reisender zu sein, ganz besonders. <br/>Wir möchten die Gelegenheit nutzen uns hier, über das Portal, nochmal ganz herzlich bei Simon Werren, seiner Frau Itisha, Dr. Teo und dem gesamten Team, zu bedanken. Ihr habt uns eine ganz besondere Zeit auf Borneo ermöglicht, die uns und unseren Kindern immer in Erinnerung bleiben werden !
