Wonderful place in a wonderful location! The Lackman condo we rented for 6 nights was right on the beach. We had a family of 5 including 3 adult children and the size was perfect for us. Air conditioning and fans worked great, nice large covered deck, everything worked fine. (The exception was two burners out on the stovetop that presumably hadn't been reported by the previous occupants - Bryant promised to fix them the day we reported them, which was the day we left.) In mid-June, Carolina Beach was uncrowded, plenty of space, water was fine, not too hot outside. The area where the condo was is very quiet, all residential. The worst thing about Carolina Beach is that there is no free parking anywhere except at stores and restaurants. Our family had 4 cars and we could only park 2 at the house. No on-street parking except downtown and it costs more than Washington DC - also no overnight parking. I'm retired military and discoverd Ft. Fisher, an Air Force recreation area, is 5 miles down the road. They let us park 2 cars there for the entire time we were here. It was a great family reunion. We enjoyed the beach, the tiny "boardwalk" area with some good restaurants, ice cream and donut places, including the famous Squigley's ice cream.
