Reserved a beach front house several months ago from Oct 8th to 13th. Hurricane Florence came through and a week after we contacted the office to see if the house we reserved had taken any damage and was still available. Yep! No problem we were told! House is fine! The week before our trip we get an email saying the house is damaged and not available but they had another they could put us in. After stringing us along for several days they finally offered a 2nd row house at an UPCHARGE! This is now a couple days out so its not like we had a lot of options as people had taken off time from work. The house was super nice but Coastal Vacations should have honored the original price due to their misinformation and awful customer service and the fact that the house was not beachfront as we initially reserved . Also I left a tiny Amazon Firestick remote control that could literally be mailed in an envelope and they want to charge me $25 plus shipping! My family rents property on Oak Island 2-3 times a year every year. We wont be using this company again but judging by the bad reviews im seeing they probably could care less.....

We made reservations for september 2018 for the no wake zone house. We got there on a sunday around 530pm.. When we got there we heard on the news a hurricane could hit Friday.. Following day we got a call from cvroi at 2pm that we had to evacuate the house by 4:30pm.. We drove 16 hours there and were told to evacuate less than 24 hours later. We tried to explain how far we lived and mentioned the hurricane wasnt due to hit until friday and we had a 16 hour drive and just got there and a few guests had been drinking and asked if we can leave the following morning. The girl we spoke to told us that we had to leave by 430 and she didnt care if we sat on the side of the road and sobered up but we better be out by 430. So we packed up and left after 23 hours of being there. Unfortunately we did not buy travlers insurance but were told something could possibly be worked out whether it was money back or we got to stay he following year but that they needed to talk to the owner. Today we called and were told that the owner wont do anything for us because of no travelers insurance. I understand that we should have bought it but i personally wouldnt be able to sleep at night knowing i took someones money ($2600) and they didnt get even get to spend 24 hours at the house they rented. We rented in 2017 at the no wake zone house and planned to rent the same house for 2019 but will not be returning or renting from this agency again. Just super disapointed this happened but it is a lesson learned to just buy the travlers insurance.

Well my daughter rented the moby Dick house from coastal vacation resorts on oak Island for my 50th birthday. Hurricane Florence came and messed that up they didn’t offer insurance because it was within 30 days now they won’t move the dates or refund her money.

This place is a terrible place to rent from. Our a.c. broke and they did nothing for us. One,of the workers even told us they didn't even want to help us. They were catching attitudes and even told us They didn't want to help us. I suggest you rent from someone else.

This was our 5th time renting from Coastal Vacation Resorts. BEWARE of Tucker's Choice! Infested with roaches not just beach roaches these are house ones of all different sizes. Upon our arrival we walked into the house and noticed a nasty smell. The smell was from the garbage disposal which didn't work and was filled with what looked like fish heads among other items. The house had not been cleaned. There was sand everywhere, on the furniture on the floors. The counter tops had a sticky substance all over it, gold fish crackers on the couch and floor and hair in the bathrooms, tub and toilets. We couldn't use any of the dishes because the cabinets were so dirty and had dead bugs. SeveraI lights were out, master ceiling fan didn't work, remotes needed batteries. There was mold in 2 rooms of the house on the walls. The AC filters needed changed. Large bees nest on the deck (we killed with spray we purchased ) I was so disappointed after driving 6 hours to find this mess. I opened the hall closet and there were 4 large containers of roach spray! I knew there must be a problem. I found several dead roaches on the floor, cabinets, and even suck to the walls! I called Coastal and they put me through to the head of cleaning. ....she offered to send the crew out but seriously do you think that would help? I told her I'd feel better cleaning myself so off to Walmart for supplies. When leaving Saturday I dropped the "report card" off. All the young lady at the desk said was that she'd give it to the proper person. That's it! I've yet to hear from that proper person. Last time I'll stay with this rental company.

These are the best people to rent from on Oak Island. I loved the home that we stayed in. It was very clean and pest free. The girls at check-in were so sweet. We will definitely will be back next year.
