I mentioned to a family member how much I was paying for insurance with EW Smith, which was about $7,800 for two homes, a car and boat. They said that it was an outrageous amount and I should get another quote; I did. I was quoted $2200 through another agency for all four assets. When I called Scott Roberts (sales manger) to express my disgust with Matt Perry (my agent) and ask how there could be such a large difference, he told me that its my responsibility to make sure I'm getting the best price by continuity getting other quotes. I'm so upset to think that for the last three years that I've trusted EW Smith/Matt Perry to get me the best price and be trustworthy, that they have been the complete opposite. If you add up the difference over the last three years EW Smith has cost me $16,800 extra, total cost $23,400. I should mention that I live downriver in a small bungalow that cost 2K to insure with EW Smith. This same home cost $615 a year with my new agency. I feel like I've been scammed.
