Overall Feedback:
Michael Green in the zoning department is a joke. He told me I needed to submit a FOIA request in order for him to tell me what zoning regulations apply to fences. I think he is just covering up for his ignorance and incompetence. Having to deviate from the written zoning laws would require brain activity, which I fear he has none. He is low level township employee on a power trip who doesn't even know the rules he should be enforcing. On top of that, he told me that he didn't care if there wasn't a zoning ordinance that would prevent me from doing what I had planned and that if I did it anyway, he would "come after me". When I contacted his supervisor, Chuck Korn, to file a formal complaint, he wouldn't let me and told me that my email to him was sufficient. Mr. Green is a bully. I imagine he was bullied in school and now uses his "power" to bully others. UPDATE: In what I believe was a revenge based administrative ruling, Mr. Green states that all height limits in ordinances are based off the ground level prior to construction. If you are changing the grade of your lot, you will have to continue to measure heights based off the grade before the change. Example, you level off a corner of your lot that dropped down 5'. You want to put a fence around your yard, in that area where the grade was raised, you will only be able to have a 2' high fence. This is clearly the interpretation of a genius. He told me I could appeal his decision. I'm not going to appeal it, I'm going to laugh my ass off at him trying to enforce such nonsense. If he refuses to enforce it on others, I will sue Garfield Twp. for discrimination and retaliation.
