We purchased renters insurance for a two story home with basement located in the Peaselburg neighborhood of Covington. The only question we were asked is how many dollars worth of personal property insurance we wanted. No other options were given to us nor were we told of any circumstances under which our property would not be covered. Our home was flooded with two feet of sewage backup last weekend and our claim is being denied because we did not have a sewage and drain backup endorsement on our policy. If we had been told this $50/year endorsement was necessary then we would have purchased it. Now we are out $15-20k in personal property loss.Additionally, both our cars were flooded with sewage and the agent did not have rental coverage on our policies, which I have been told is this agencies standard of practice.
