As an established small local business with over 30 years’ experience, one of the toughest spends to justify is an integrated, well branded marketing program based on an online presence. Web site, social media, and marketing campaigns, where to start? You can have a web page constructed for $1500.00 to $5- 10,000.00, the sky is the limit, but where is the value for us, what do we need for our business? How do we change or add photos to the website, how do we work a blog. All functions we could devote a lot of resources and training to, but will it work? Who within the organization will take ownership of this critical component? What we’ve been doing has worked for 30 years; do we need to spend this money? All questions we struggled with before committing resources to a marketing program.We contracted with Go West Design Group to not only build our web site, but to manage our online presence and marketing as an ongoing monthly spend. The cost of the web site was very reasonable and looks great, but the real value to us has been the ongoing updates, marketing campaigns, and social media presence. As part of an overall branding campaign the amount of work these components require was considerably more time than we had to spare with our existing staff, and for less than the cost of half-time employee, Go West Design Group delivers an expert product that is producing results. Visible metrics on who is visiting our site, how many pages they view, and subsequent leads generated are provided regularly, and you can see the results. It’s important to note that a marketing spend is not like turning on a tap as far as leads generated goes, and it took 6-8 months to see concrete results, but since implementing the marketing plan our business has grown 21% in the first year, 24% in the second, and is tracking growth to 25-26% this year, and our marketing spend has been a huge part of that, again, all for less than a part time employee’s wages. Melinda Harris and her staff of writers, Google Certified Specialists, programmers, and social media experts are a pleasure to do business with (even if they have to nag us a bit for content), and we would recommend their services to any small business that wants to create an effective brand and integrated marketing program that is very affordable, and most importantly, delivers results.
