The "glory days" of the Keepers Inn are in the past, but the views are spectacular, the lighthouse enchanting and the food is very good. Our room had a wood stove which we enjoyed on cold, windy days while reading. There was a loon on the lake outside our window and we could hear the waves crashing on the rocks at night...very nice. Our bathroom's wallpaper was peeling off, our toilet seat was broken and we had no bath mat to step our of the shower on. The fresh flowers were all wilted on the dining room tables mid stay and never replaced. They didn't seem to have enough help. However, the staff was lovely and treated us very well. Isle au Haut is a real escape from the world of noise, traffic, deadlines, and schedules. It's very quiet and peaceful there and the scenery is an amazing reminder of God's creation.

Rustic charm taking you back to life back before clocks and internet. You forget the days of the week. Amazing food and exquisite attention paid towards the guests. Downside is that it's remote, quiet, and historic including bathrooms. Not a bad thing but mentally you need to understand that you get a chance to go back in time.

Fantastic rustic getaway off the grid. Only major downside was the shower was too short for my 6'1" hubby and getting water temp right for a place with virtually no electricity means no long showers but it added to the charm. Great peaceful island for hiking and biking but test ride your bike first because its 17 miles RT. Great people on the island and very interesting to learn about life on the island thru the ages from locals and repeat Bed n breakfast visitors here. Peace. Serenity. Beauty.

One of the most beautiful Coastal spots you will ever find. I really can't find the words. The place is charming, well-appointed and unique, but that just doesn't get the job done.
