Client Review on State Farm
Feedback:
I have never had a more terrible experience with a business than I have had with State Farm. I bought a new vehicle in mid-may and called them to have it insured. After calling them for almost a week with getting no answer, I finally went up there and was told they hadn't received my calls. I was given a temporary proof of insurance and was sent on my way. Towards the end of May, I once again called them to cancel my policy. I revived no answer, so I called their Columbia office and canceled my policy through them. I had a strange feeling they were going to take the money out of my account anyway, so I went to the bank and had them block State Farm from accessing my account. Well, on the first of the month State Farm withdrew my monthly payment, plus an additional 5$. The bank had blocked State Farm for a specific amount. State Farm charged me an additional 5$ once the first transaction wouldn't go through. I called State Farm, quite mad, and explained the the woman at the Republic office that I had canceled my account but was still charged. I was called a liar basically. I then explained I was a customer for 10 years and was cut off as she explained I was only a customer for 2. WHAT?! I was promised that I would have my money back on my account within 10 business days. At this point I was pissed, but whatever. I was getting my money back, and done with State Farm. I checked my bank account today, and only 1/2 of the money had been returned. They charged me 200$ to cancel my account. On top of this, two years ago, they canceled my policy and I had no idea. It wasn't until the bank that I have my car loan through called me and informed me that I had not had incurable for 2 months. So for two months I had no car, life, or house insurance. I highly recommend you go somewhere else and save the massive headache. I'm saving almost 150$ a month my switching to Nation Wide. I will be contacting the BBB.
