Client Review on Midgett Realty Construction

Third trip to the Outer Banks. Our previous 2 trips & rental companies were wonderful. No issues with the rentals at all. They were clean, spacious & as advertised. This year we used Midgett Realty. Nightmare!Unit Condition: 1. Kitchen chair cushions food crumbs all over them. Table had food in the grooves on the 2 ends. No room for food storage, top of fridge layers of dirt and a 2" cockroach scurried across the floor, black mold in vent and wallboard above sink. 2. Living room, TV food stuck to the screen. White couch long human hairs on it, multiple pinkish/yellow stains. 3. Bedrooms, food on the floor, open salt packet, half-eaten bag of candy in a dresser drawer & wrappers on the floor, inappropriate books (for children) on the shelf, candy wrappers behind them, the lamp was in disrepair. Light was hanging by a wire, which our youngest daughter stated she "fixed". This in itself was a hazard. Handset under the bunk beds. Beds had dirt in the crevices surrounding the thin mattresses. 4. The grill still had ashes in it. Pile of beer cans & bottles along the path to the beach. Notified on Monday afternoon (next day) - mandatory evacuation on Tues by 10 AM. Spent most of the day at the beach.2 members of our family are severely allergic to the black mold (1 with asthma) & began showing reactions to it. Left on Tues, as instructed. Brought outside furniture in as requested as a courtesy. Did not contact Midgett regarding these issues at the time as there was nothing they could do with the impending evacuation. Made no sense to send a cleaning crew over to do the job that should have been done in the first place. Could not upgrade us to a nicer, clean unit, area was being evacuated. On 9-9-19, emailed to contact Midgett realty. No response until 9-17-19. Emails rejected & had to message directly through their site. Provided information above & requested a refund for the remaining days in the amount of $824.49 since they could not have corrected the above issues as outlined above. Unit unacceptable. Not requesting a refund due to being evacuated, it was for an unacceptable rental. Response came from Anthony Fletcher the "General Manager" of rentals: "Stated no cleaning issued noted.
