Client Review on Niagara-on-the-Lake Vacation Homes

I booked at stay at this house to celebrate my 30th birthday with friends for the Canada long weekend. Needless to say this was the worst experience I have ever had booking a place. I had contact with Mark the entire week before, even the evening before confirming check in time and where to meet. A group of us were all very excited to spend the long weekend on Niagara on the lake. We received a call as we were driving to the location that this property had been double booked and our reservation had been cancelled. When we called Mark to understand what happened he yelled at us and told us not to bother him; it wasn't his fault and he didn't care. I'm still not sure how he did not know two people were checking into the same place the next day, but it was the absolute worst customer service I've ever received. There was barely an apology or any sympathy that our planned weekend would be ruined. We explained we had guests coming from Ottawa, Toronto and London and he told us there was nothing he could do and hung up. When I reconnected with Mark a few days after the weekend to see if he had any information on what actually happened with this double booking, he again yelled at me and stated multiple times "the weekend is over, why do you care." I'm assuming he's never had his vacation derailed an hour before check in and even if it really wasn't his fault (something I find hard to believe), he could have at least put himself in our shoes. It is very strange for someone in this business not to have any customer service skills or compassion. I did speak to another NOTL employee, Cody, at one point and although he could not really help us he was kind and did feel bad about the situation. I would not rent from NOTL Property Management again in general and would warn others the same. It's not worth your trouble or the headaches that will follow. We also heard through looking on the internet and friends in the area that this has happened to this NOTL property management several times. Unfortunately since we never actually stayed at the location we cannot post a poor review on the website so hopefully this viewed by some! Again, stay away!!!
