I personally volunteered here for 7 years and loved this library. They have summer reading programs for children, teens and adults. They have recently added a seed library where you can "check out" (you get to keep these seeds) seeds for your garden and you can donate back seeds to add to their collection. They also have passes to visit places around the area for free. This is a very child friendly library with a large area devoted to children and a large area devoted to teens. I enjoyed my many years here and I think you will enjoy this wonderful library too.

Great quiet place to relax and read or work on laptop. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable in various areas. If you need to look in certain subject areas. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Many resources are available for free through the website and in person.

Oct 12, 2017 As a newcomer to the Oro Valley Pima County Library System, I'd like to make a few observations. Firstly, what a great library, helpful staff, great periodicals, wide book selection and comfortable reading areas you have. It's a library that you should be very proud of. Ok, now my one and only beef. I'm a lover of libraries and have been to many so I think I can make a statement here that carries some weight. I cannot believe how NOISY this library is. People are in full conversation on cell phones as I write this. Customer Service assistants are having bantering loud and lengthy conversations with customers that can be heard throughout the entire library. Kids are running and yelling, unsupervised, in the adult sections of the library. I was always taught that libraries were quiet areas, not unlike a church. Places you go to read and concentrate- to enjoy a good book. The Oro Valley library violates all of the expectations of a quiet retreat. A few suggestions: * Ban cell phone conversations within the library confines. If you need to use your phone, go outside. * How about some large signs requesting people to turn off their phones just like when you're in the movie theatre. *If children can't be quiet in the adults areas, then at least insist that they enjoy their library time in the children's section. *A large sign at the library entrance requesting people to respect others desire for a quiet library experience. * A reminder to Library Customer Service people to lower their voices when assisting others and to remind patrons to lower their voices as well. *Consider putting a noise barrier around customer service and perhaps moving the desk to a more remote area to help alleviate noise. *Install a giant SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! sign just inside the library doors. Give the message to library users that this is a quiet area.This is not meant to be a mean or nasty letter. On the contrary. I just happen to believe that this is a great place but that a quiet library would be a better library and a make for a more enjoyable experience for all. Thanks. Sincerely,Tim Quillin

It's awesome how if your over 8 you can stay there alone! And the whole set up is awesome! The chairs and tables, the kid and teen zones and all the computers available!
