Overall Feedback:

If you have to stay in Gold River for work (not at a fishing lodge), you can choose to stay uphill or downhill. Ridgeview is the uphill option. I have stayed at both. They are both cheap. They are both poorly insulated and cold. Gold River itself is quiet, so they're both quiet. This one is much closer to the only pub/restaurant.If you're staying in Gold River for work or need to stay within $100/night budget pick either hotel; they're both hotels but both cold and not great. It doesn't really matter which you choose. If you're staying in Gold River for fun, try one of the fishing lodges or Strathcona Park Lodge. But if you're not there for a fishing lodge or Strathcona Park, maybe rethink going to Gold River for fun - it isn't.
