As a small business owner and photographer, I've often found myself wearing a million hats all at once. It's the nature of working for yourself-- you do it all and you're incredibly hard on yourself to make it all awesome. This year I finally realized that I was not superwoman and my first move was to hire Tim. After 5 years of personally designing my web presence, wondering if my Google Analytics were connected correctly, and praying my blog post tags were visible when a client searched for me, I knew that it was time to delegate this work to an expert. I knew it wouldn't be easy, that I would want to be highly involved, that I would need a lot of visual direction, and that I'd need someone who could translate my personality and my business into a web presence. Really, I needed to hire a person with a lot of heart and vision who was not afraid of the grit work, pressure of a competitive industry and the ability to be an artist/writer/IT expert/counselor (ha) all at the same time. This is why I hired Tim. While new to the web design world, he came to the table with a lot of energy and an incredible work ethic. The project I gave him was lengthy, complicated, and pushed the limits of today’s “basic platform capabilities” (my attempt at using “tech speak”!) which required a lot of direct coordinating between him & our selected web provider, CSS customization, graphic design and plain ol’ perseverance. I am confident that Tim has created a project with web elements that very few in my industry have and I know that he has helped me to create a space online that represents me as authentically as welcoming a client into my personal living room. Industry colleagues and friends alike have commented upon reviewing the drafts with repeated statements about the beauty of the site, it’s ease of use and it’s representation of me/my business. To say I am excited to launch is an understatement!
