My dream came true on the day I visited Hemmingford Gray Manor.I was one of the storiesDiana, a warm personality, gently explained each room one by one.Later, I was allowed to explore the house freely.I was surprised because the horse was big.Everything that comes up in the story, there were all rooms, decorations, trees, rivers and planting.Perhaps the children were also nearby.Diana was very kind from the time of e-mail exchange.The warm personality was more than I had imagined.I'm really thankful to you.I definitely want to visit again.

Built in the 1130s, the Manor is one of the oldest continuously inhabited houses in Britain (if not the oldest; disputed). Also the prior residence of Author Lucy M. Boston upon which she based the setting for the 'Green Knowe' book series. The garden topiary is iconic and you can view the Manor throughout the summer months (fee/donation may apply).

Amazing historical house within a 30 minute drive from Cambridge. It's been lived in for more than 900 years. The music room was my favourite with its stone walls and cosy seats and its 1929 working gramophone that Diana, the owner, kindly played for us.We admired Lucy Boston's amazing patchwork and the beautiful gardens. This is one of the best estate houses I've visited in the UK.
