Overall Feedback:
This short review would be more appropriate in a Glassdoor setting, but seeing as Truss isn't on Glassdoor, this will have to suffice. Let's break this down with pro's and con's. I worked at Truss for a little over a year as a content writer.Pro's-Wonderful coworkers that are eager to help-Really nice location in Provo with plenty of natural light-Being a very small company of 8 or so employees, you have the opportunity to learn new skills and perform a variety of tasks.-Steady paycheck, solid benefits, PTO, small severance package offerings, and a small Christmas bonus.Con's-Leadership can be shortsighted and misguided. An attitude of "instant gratification" is not conducive to a healthy digital marketing department.-No perks. If you're looking for one of those "enjoy where you work" kind of places, this is not it. Generally a show up, do your job, and then leave environment. Don't expect any team-building activities, company-sponsored lunches, consistently stocked kitchen, or anything really like that.-Not much trust in employees. Even if you're sneezing up a storm, you won't be allowed to work from home because of this distrust from management. You'll need to burn a day of PTO in that situation, or come in and make your coworkers sick (which I had to do. Sorry my beloved coworkers!).-Not many clients, the largest being a manufacturing company that makes packaging. Marketing for a manufacturing company is painfully boring and uninspiring.-Job security. In my year at Truss, there was plenty of turnover, some voluntary, some not.-No raises. I never received a raise in the year that I worked there, and I never heard of my coworkers being offered raises either. All in all, it was a nice starting point for someone looking to gather experience and learn new skills. However, it's definitely not a place I could imagine sticking with beyond a year or two.
