I worked with Dave on our website redevelopment. It's absolutely core to our business - and we wanted to get the SEO just right. Dave walked us through in easy-to-understand terms, compiling a key word/key phrase report and ensuring our website started to get great traffic and relevant leads. It's helped add to lead-generation by about 30% in the first two months - and that's only expected to increase. Best of all, I now feel I understand SEO very well, as Dave really took the time to explain it every step of the way. I encouraged David to follow a career in PR, headhunting him from a Scottish news agency to join Prospect PR in Dundee several years ago. I later encouraged him to apply for a role at Weber Shandwick, where he appears to have grown, flourished and gone on to lead in a senior capacity, before setting up his own consultancy business. David has also struck me as a very focused individual who combines excellent journalistic abilities with award-winning PR skills - the very best kind of PR in my mind!

I used to work with David when we were both starting out in PR. He's a generous and supportive colleague with a keen understanding of media and public relations. In the time I worked with him, he developed a range of creative strategies to gain coverage and brand recognition for campaigns as diverse as Scottish raspberries to science centres. David's drive and tenacity set him head and shoulders above most business people. When you're eating breakfast, David is already at his desk, focussed on the task in hand and reliably producing results for clients day after day. His single-mindedness is directed with brutal efficiency at any task, from rolling up his sleeves to pen a press release or produce the contact report which becomes a reference work for months, right through to his personal goal of a sub-3 marathon. Personable and confident, David imbues meetings with authority and is rarely lost for words. As an employee, I saw the other side of his charscter, too: a compassion for his staff and a genuine desire to make the world of work work for everyone. David is that rare thing in public relations - an honest, sage and approachable communicator who tells it like it is.

I don't believe I have come across someone so dedicated to the client as David. I learnt PR from him and (I think) I took his good habits into my career in communications. He uses his experience to its best advantage and finds niches to exploit that would not always be obvious to others. The times I have worked with him since I always knew that he had my back.

Dave is a 'does what it says on the tin' kind of PR guy - results driven, tenacious and always on the positive.He's a hard worker but also know also when to kick back.
